Position Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Industrial ventilation and dust collection systems, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of ventilation and dust collection solutions for industrial facilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, project managers, and other engineers, to ensure the successful delivery of projects that meet and exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- HVAC and Dust Collection System Design: Lead the design and engineering of industrial HVAC and dust collection systems, ensuring they meet regulatory standards, energy efficiency requirements, and client specifications.
- Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Monitor and report progress, addressing any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in the selection of HVAC components, equipment, and systems. Conduct feasibility studies and performance evaluations to optimize system efficiency.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that all ventilation and dust collection designs adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into overall facility designs.
- Testing and Validation: Oversee the testing, commissioning, and validation of HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Maintain accurate records of design changes and project milestones.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to verify the accuracy and reliability of Dust Collection systems and HVAC system designs and installations.
- Client Interaction:Engage with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical support, and address any concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement:Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards. Stay informed about advancements in technologies, and recommend innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Eng considered an asset.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing HVAC systems for industrial applications.
- Strong Knowledge of HVAC, building, fire, electrical/energy codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and other relevant engineering software.
- Experience with NFPA codes and standards (68, 69, 652, 654) considered an asset
- Familiar with flow and pressure loss calculations
- Hands on experience (airflow reading onsite, commissioning)
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Available to travel overnight as needed (site, client driven)
